Hans Peter Frederiksen Skjødt was born November 21, 1850 in Besser on the island of Samsø, Denmark. He was the son of Jens Fredrich Johansen, a shoemaker, and Maren Jensdatter. Hans died September 17, 1940 in Horsens, Denmark. In his youth, Hans was a dancer with the Danish Royal Ballet. After his marriage to Else, he became a business man, working as an inn keeper and baker in Ejstrupholm, Denmark.
Hans married Else Pedersen in 1873. She was born Jan. 17, 1851, in Hornborg, Denmark. She died on Nov. 14, 1934 in Horsens Denmark. They had 9 children: Peter, Marius, Tordenskjødt (died as a baby), Cathrine, Johan, Mary, Thora, Lundsgård, and Valdemar.
Peter Houmann Frederiksen Skjødt was born March 3, 1874 in Besser on the island of Samsø. He died on May 28, 1948. He married Marie Andersine Bodeline Petersen. Marie was born on May 30, 1874 in Silkeborg, Denmark and she died in 1933. They had 6 children: Else, Hilma, Anker, Frode, Mary, and Anna.
Marius Frederiksen Skjødt was born August 25, 1875. He died October 9 1937, in Denmark. His first wife was Helena. They had four children: Lucy, Else, Thora and Einer. His second wife was Dagmar and they had three children: Faultmar, Henning, and Aksel. Marius and Dagmar went to the USA in 1926 and opened a bakery in Iowa, but they were not happy so they returned after only one year.
Tordenskjødt Frederiksen Skjødt was born in 1876 and died three months later.
Ane Cathrine Frederiksen Skjødt was born November 20, 1878 in Nørre Snede, Denmark. She married Peter Andersen who was born in Horsens, Denmark and who owned a meat market. Cathrine died on February 19, 1951; Peter died November 13, 1951. They had two sons: Hans Peter Richard and Arne Anders. Arne immigrated to the US in 1919 and Richard followed in 1921.
Iver Johan Peter Frederiksen Skjødt was born October 22, 1881 in Nørre Snede, Denmark. He died on March 5, 1970 in Nakskov. Johan owned a bakery and a restaurant. Johan’s first wife was Hilma and they had a daughter, Vivi. Johan married his second wife, Johanne Olsen, on August 4, 1911 at the City Hall in Copenhagen. She was born August 14, 1888 in Lundtofte, Denmark. She died November 7, 1976. They are both buried in Nakskov with their two daughters, Muddi and Edith. Johan and Johanne had 5 children: Volkman, Edith, Muddi, Henning and Paul Freddy.
Mary Frederiksen Skjødt was born November 4, 1883 in Denmark. She died on Feb 10, 1944 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Mary married a man named Nielsen in 1906 in Denmark and they had one son, Andre (Andy) in 1909. Nielsen deserted her after Andy was born and Mary immigrated to the United States. Mary married Johann (John) Carstensen in late 1912 or early 1913. John owned a farm near Schaller, Iowa. After the marriage, John adopted Andy. John had been born on January 12, 1878 in Holstein, Germany which is just south of Denmark He died December 25, 1960 in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Petra Thora Frederiksen Skjødt was born March 27, 1888 in Nørre Snede, Denmark. She died on December 25, 1973 in Storm Lake, Iowa. Thora married Carl Baars Bach, who worked as a butcher, on May 10, 1908, in Denmark. Carl died on April 22, 1955 in Sulfer Springs, Iowa. They had their first son, Carlo Cody, in Denmark in 1910. Carl and Thora immigrated to the US in either 1911 or 1913, where Thora changed her name to Dora. They had 2 more sons in Iowa: Clifford (who died as an infant) and Marvin in 1921.
Kristen Lundsgård Frederiksen Skjødt was born June 18, 1889, in Nørre Snede, Denmark. He died in Valby, Denmark. He was married to Anna. They had two girls, Asta and Edith. Lundsgard owned a Bakery in Valby, near Copenhagen.
Thorvald Valdemar Frederiksen Skjødt was born on June 8, 1892 in Nørre Snede, Vrads, Denmark. He died on March 11, 1979 in Warren City, New Jersey. Valdemar immigrated to the USA on June 12, 1912 and became a citizen on April 26, 1923 when he legally changed his name to Walter Scott. He married Myrle Maude Arthur on March 21, 1919 in Sac City Iowa. She was born on January 26, 1900 in Big Flats, Wisconsin. Myrle died on July 20, 1977 in Storm Lake Iowa. Though Walter had become a master baker in Denmark, in Iowa he farmed, bought and sold horses and had a large sheep business. Walter and Myrel raised seven children: Elinor, Elsie, George (whose twin was stillborn), Glen, Gerald, Evelyn and Ellen.
